From the Front:
"The JDK R24 is my secret magic box on nearly all of my acoustic tracks, ambient music, and open-sounding pieces that come through the studio for mixing. It is a great tone shaper when it comes to molding the tone of acoustic guitars and vocals in a mixing session.
"The Waves API 2500 compressor is my go-to buddy for parallel compression on drum tracks or vocals. It's nice and responsive when working with faster or higher-tempo songs. I always find a sweet spot where it's not clamping down on the transient information, and integrates beautifully and transparently into a mix to give the drums or vocals a nice, open fullness.
"The Waves API 550b is a nice piece of tool in mixing sessions. I use it mostly on lead guitars and synth parts because it can really open up the sound in the top end, without making it sound harsh in a mix. That is always a big concern when I'm boosting anything above 1.5k."
