From the Front:
"Mark Rubel, at Pogo Studio, here in Champaign, Illinois, first introduced me to API when I took a couple of recording classes at his studio. His studio is centered around an API console, which was custom built in the 1970's for Fantasy Records and Creedence Clearwater Revival in San Francisco. I had that API sound stuck in my head after hearing that console in class and knew I had to have it in my own studio. The API 3124 was a game changer in my own studio. It gives my drums punch, shines on vocals, and makes everything I run through my API 3124 sound real, while helping everything to sit perfectly in any mix.
"After I fell in love with my 3124, I read about JDK Audio. I was intrigued by the rugged military-esque look and more importantly the R-22 compressor. After purchasing my R22 I have found countless uses [for it]. So far I have found that it shines on acoustic guitar, giving the guitar a beautiful sparkle, by perfectly articulating the strings and the picking. I also use the R22 on the drum bus every time I am mixing live, recorded drums. The R22 adds punch, while smoothing out the cymbals, to give this larger than life sound."
