From the Front:
"I typically use the R20 on snare and electric guitar cabs — that's my go-to preamp for those applications. But I also
like using the front panel instrument jacks for bass, rhodes and nords. It has a nice clean tone with a fast transient response and it works.
"It's expensive to get a full arsenal of good recording gear. I wanted to purchase equipment from high-quality manufacturers
with solid reputations. When I found out that API was making gear under the name of JDK, I was excited to get their quality at a more affordable price. I wanted a
stereo American-made high-quality preamp for about $1,000, and I found that in the R20."
About Studio Mira Mar:
A bassist for more than a decade, Drew Allsbrook had always wanted to be a music producer. He decided to pursue his dream in
2007 through interning at Sound Asylum Recording Studio in Orange County, California. During the time he spent there, Allsbrook learned how to record and engineer
audio and, eventually, started to piece together his own set of recording equipment. Skills and equipment ready, Allsbrook opened his own home studio, Studio Mira
Mar, in 2009.
