2 out of 3 Apply Brand-Aid
At the recent AES (Audio Engineering Society) show in New York, the JDK
display in the API booth was graced by two of the brand's three namesakes. Both the 'D' and the 'K' were in and around the racks, showing interested users how to cue
up the listening station for the JDK products. The mic pre, EQ and compressor could all be auditioned with four different audio tracks via
JDK Announces Kimleng Audio as New Dealer
After representing API for the past two years, Kimleng Audio
has recently been signed as a JDK dealer. We're proud to welcome Kimleng as part of the JDK team and we know that they'll serve the brand well through their street
smarts and market intuition. According to our managing director, Gordon Smart, "I don't think we could have made a better choice." For more information
on Kimleng Audio, please visit: www.KimlengAudio.com.
Announcing the JDK Facebook Page
For everyone who's been looking for a more convenient way to follow
what's going on at JDK; you're in luck. Today, we're launching JDK's first ever official Facebook page! The JDK Facebook page, which you can view right now by
clicking this link, is the perfect place for our
fans to see the latest news and photos from JDK. We will continue to update our website regularly as always, but through our Facebook page, we now have the ability to
directly interact with our customers and fans online — and that's something we're excited about!
JDK Audio Signs Foxtone Music as New Dealer
In order to better reach API customers in the mid-US,
we have signed on Foxtone Music as a JDK dealer! Foxtone Music was created in 2005 specifically to "combat 'Big Box' mentality with superior customer service,
no-pressure sales and competitive pricing." With stores in Minneapolis and Eagan, the music store also offers in-house instrumental lessons and repairs. We're
looking forward to regularly working with Foxtone Music from here on out!
API President Larry Droppa (left) presents a JDK R20 dual mic pre to John Jaszcz, who accepted it on behalf of his daughter,
lucky winner Jackie Peterson.
Oysters three ways, served at API sponsored hole #16.
A Swing and a Hit at NERF
API has returned from the 14th Annual Audio Masters benefit golf tournament held May 26th and 27th and we had a fantastic time! The tournament,
held by AES's Nashville Engineer Relief Fund (NERF), takes place each year to raise funds for local engineers experiencing medical and other hardships. In our fourth
appearance at the golf outing, we again sponsored hole #16 and provided passing golfers with an Eastern Shore/Mid-Atlantic specialty — Oysters... three ways!
API's Director of Sales Dan Zimbelman, Salesman Mark Seman and President Larry Droppa served oysters on the half shell, oyster shooters and oyster po' boys made with
fresh Leidenheimer bread from New Orleans.
The golf outing also gave players a chance to win some API gear. Thursday night's lucky raffle winner of a JDK R20
dual mic preamp was Jackie Peterson, daughter of award-winning engineer, producer and mixer John Jaszcz (pronounced "Yosh"), who accepted the module on
Jackie's behalf. We hope she lets him use it occasionally!
Our second-day winner was Thomas Johnson, engineer and Imagine Audio Video employee. Thomas walked
away with an API lunchbox® loaded with a 512c mic preamp and a 527 compressor.
Congrats to both our winners and thanks to everyone in NERF for making the
2011 golf tournament a time to remember. We hope to see you all again in 2012!
New round of R22 compressors nearing completion
JDK customers, the wait is
almost over — the newest group of R22s is nearing completion! As a response to the dual-channel compressor's growing popularity, JDK sent a new round of the
dual channel compressors to production this spring in order to meet the heightened industry demand. As always, we'd like to extend our thanks to JDK diligent
dealers, both nationally and abroad, for bringing the R22 as well as the rest of the JDK line up (the R20 mic pre, the R24 EQ and the V14 EQ) to the front line of
the audio industry.
